Honestly, the worst thing I can say about Daxi is that I found the table at which I was seated to be uncomfortable. Other than that, no complaints. The service was attentive, glasses were promptly refilled, plates cleared in a timely fashion, and we weren't rushed. Unless you're very familiar with traditional Sichuan cooking you're likely to find some unfamiliar dishes here. Based on what we ordered, if it sounds appealing, order it. All dishes were flavorful, spicy although not incendiary, and entirely delicious. Don't skip the complimentary marinated cabbage that comes out when you sit down. It's so very good. Flushing has an embarrassing bounty of amazing restaurants. This is definitely a keeper.

Authentic sichuan food. The spice level is not too crazy but acceptable. Food presentation is OK.

as a chinese person i thoroughly enjoyed this meal and felt like it was authentic!!! surprisingly the dishes were HUGE, so generous for a fancy chinese restaurant. Also very fairly priced for what you get. They service all types of proteins and intestines. spacious restaurant and good service!

The Flushing Szechuan scene is probably the most competitive market for this cuisine. If you're not on point, you will be dead in months. Daxi has been around for years which is a testament to their staying power and popularity. The decor in this place is pretty fun - throwback old school Chinese and I remember when it was the first establishment to use this motif in Flushing. As for food, it's just average IMO for Flushing which means it's pretty darn good. Pig ears were good but they make it differently than other places (dip in the chili powder vs. chili oil marinated). Cauliflower was good but could've been better (needed to be fried at a higher temp to scorch it and dry it out more). Chili chicken was pretty standard although it wasn't as numbing as I'd like and a tad salty. Service here is good although prices are on the higher end since it's a fancier restaurant. The food here is good altho IMO I've had better Szechuan in the area. Overall a solid experience. Thumbs up.
